Minnesota Department of Transportation – Bridge Railing Systems Inspections Minnesota

Minnesota Department of Transportation – Bridge Railing Systems Inspections Minnesota

When the Minnesota Department of Transportation identified construction issues in some regional bridge railing systems, AET was contracted to inspect over 25 bridges using the structural tube railing system throughout the state of Minnesota.

Our Nondestructive Testing Group used ultrasonic and visual inspection to observe that installed anchors complied with MnDOT standards. We also performed load tests on anchor bolts to qualify them for appropriate pull-out loads of 23,000 pounds per square inch. We inspected the installed equipment and re-inspected if corrective actions were required.
