Geotechnical Soil and Rock Testing
AET in-house geotechnical laboratories provide the soil testing and rock testing that engineers need for their projects to be be built on solid ground.
For over 50 years we have maintained accredited geotechnical laboratories for describing and testing the mechanical and physical properties of rock and soil for engineering purposes.
Our laboratory staff are certified, experienced, and well-trained in the use of the required tools and methodologies. Professional Engineers serve in a quality assurance role and all work is completed in accordance with our internal Quality Management System.
Geotechnical testing services for soil and rock
AET geotechnical laboratory testing ranges from visual-manual classification of soils and index testing to more sophisticated testing, such as triaxial shear testing. Some of these tests include:
- Index Testing (Atterberg limits, moisture content)
- Sieve/Hydrometer Analysis
- Organic Content
- Unconfined Compression Tests
- Triaxial Shear Tests (UU, CU, CD)
- Direct Shear Tests
- Consolidation Tests
- Swell Tests
- Permeability Tests
- Thermal Resistivity Tests
- Electrical Resistivity Tests
- Standard and Modified Proctor Tests
- CBR Tests
- R-value Tests
- Soil Chemistry Tests
